# Set up iForgot (for AI agents)

You're reading this because someone asked you to set up iForgot (iforgot.ai). It's a web service, not a project on this computer: don't look for local code. iForgot keeps the posts they liked and saved on X, Instagram, TikTok, RedNote (Xiaohongshu) and Douyin. Once it's added, you can search and read that library. You can't change anything in it.

- MCP server: https://mcp.iforgot.ai/mcp
- Transport: Streamable HTTP
- Sign-in: OAuth with dynamic client registration. There is no API key.

## 1. Add the server

If you can add an MCP server yourself, do it now and name it iForgot:

- Claude Code: `claude mcp add --transport http -s user iforgot https://mcp.iforgot.ai/mcp`, then they sign in from `/mcp`.
- Codex: `codex mcp add iforgot --url https://mcp.iforgot.ai/mcp`
- Cursor: merge `"iforgot": {"url": "https://mcp.iforgot.ai/mcp"}` into `mcpServers` in `~/.cursor/mcp.json`. Don't create an mcp.json in the current folder. Then run `cursor-agent mcp login iforgot`. Once the config is written, don't also open the install link below.
- Any other agent with an MCP config file: `{"mcpServers": {"iforgot": {"url": "https://mcp.iforgot.ai/mcp"}}}` in its global config.

If you can't, guide them instead. Give one step at a time, in their language:

- Claude (web, desktop, phone): open https://claude.ai/customize/connectors?modal=add-custom-connector&connectorName=iForgot&connectorUrl=https%3A%2F%2Fmcp.iforgot.ai%2Fmcp and choose Add.
- ChatGPT: open Plugins in the sidebar (https://chatgpt.com/plugins), choose Add › Add custom MCP server, paste the URL above, accept the risk warning and choose Create as a plugin. No developer mode needed. Custom MCP servers are only on some ChatGPT plans.
- Cursor: open cursor://anysphere.cursor-deeplink/mcp/install?name=iForgot&config=eyJ1cmwiOiJodHRwczovL21jcC5pZm9yZ290LmFpL21jcCJ9
- Anything else: add a custom MCP server (it may be called a connector or an app) with the URL above.

## 2. Sign in

Connecting opens an iForgot page. They sign in with the code sent to their email and choose Allow.

Never ask for their password or the email code. They type it on the iForgot page, not to you.

## 3. Check

Run one search, for example for "recipe". If it works, tell them iForgot is connected and suggest one thing to ask, like "Find the hikes I saved."
